- Hallsville ISD has the most "Exemplary" campuses of any school district in East Texas and Region VII. This includes all school districts in class 1A through 5A. This is a testimony for this great school district!
- Hallsville Primary, Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School, and the Junior High received "Exemplary" ratings from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
- Hallsville Independent School District and Hallsville High School received "Recognized" ratings from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
- Hallsville Primary and Intermediate Schools received "Gold Performance Acknowledgement" recognition from TEA in Reading/English Language Arts and Math.
- Hallsville Middle School received "Gold Performance Acknowledgement" from TEA in Attendance, Reading/English Language Arts, Math, Science, as well as Comparable Improvement in both Reading/English Language Arts and Math.
- Hallsville Junior High received "Gold Performance Acknowledgement" from TEA in Attendance, Reading/English Language Arts, and Writing.
- Hallsville Independent School District received "Gold Performance Acknowledgement" in Writing.
- Over the past two years, three Hallsville High School students were named National Merit Scholars and nine students were named Commended Students.
- Over 75% of graduating Seniors take extra course work to be recognized as Globe Scholars or Globe Scholars with Distinction.
- Hallsville High School was one of forty-three schools to receive an Academic Success Award for significantly raising ACT scores over the past five years.
- HISD established a record-setting district-wide attendance rate of 96.5%.
- Hallsville Intermediate, Middle, and Junior High Schools established all-time student attendance records in school history.
- Hallsville Primary, Elementary, and High Schools achieved the second highest campus attendance rates in school history.
- An active Alumni Association provides involvement opportunities for Hallsville ISD graduates.
- Hallsville’s "H" Letterman Association is the oldest such association that meets annually in the state of Texas.
- The HISD Education Foundation has awarded over $55,000 in grants to teachers over the past four years for classroom improvement projects.
- A technology department recognized as one of the "top ten in Texas" supports all campuses.

- Partnerships with Kilgore College, Texas State Technical College in Marshall, and the Supernet Virtual High School provide distance learning opportunities for students.
- School and community news and events are broadcast on Bobcat Radio, KQAT 104.9 FM.
- The Kindergarten and High School academic programs culminate with exemplary graduation ceremonies.
- District-wide High School and Elementary Pep Rallies, as well as banquets and award ceremonies, promote school and community spirit.
- HISD sponsors annual Veteran’s Day programs to recognize our nations heroes.
- Parent involvement groups actively plan events on each campus.
- HISD students participate in "Forever Friends" a mentoring program for girls in grades 5-12, sponsored by Partners in Prevention.
- An active "Dad’s Club" promotes parental involvement through activities and service projects.
- Community volunteers annually donate more than 5,500 hours of service to the district.
- HISD received a "Superior Achievement" Financial Accountability Rating resulting from a fiscal audit.
- Hallsville ISD was awarded the Annie Qzella Jones Memorial Student Scholarship from Claims Administrative Services for having the best three year average on Worker’s Compensation claims. The safe work environment protects HISD’s greatest asset, the employees.
- All students and classes are taught by teachers who meet National Standards as "Highly Qualified".
- Employees can purchase affordable personal computers through a HISD sponsored program.
- Employee Sick Leave Bank assists employees during serious personal or family illnesses.
- A Literacy Coaching and Training Model supports teachers in implementing Balanced Literacy.
- The Preparing Educator’s for Tomorrow (PET) program makes it possible for instructional aides, paraprofessionals, and substitutes to earn credit toward a Bachelor’s in Science and Interdisciplinary Studies (EC-4) from the Texas A&M University — Texarkana through night classes offered at HISD.
- HISD pays tuition for employees who participate in LeTourneau University’s Conversational Spanish classes.
