Gold Performance Acknowledgement System |
|
|
Recently, the Gold Performance Acknowledgement System (GPA) which acknowledges
districts and campuses for high performance on indicators other than those
used to determine accountability ratings, released their findings. The Intermediate
School received Gold Acknowledgement for Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
The Middle School received acknowledgement for Attendance, Reading/
English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and was also acknowledged for Comparable
Improvement in both Reading/English Language Arts and Mathematics. The
Junior High School was acknowledged for Attendance, Reading/English Language
Arts, and Writing. The District was acknowledged for writing.
In order for a campus to receive Gold Acknowledgement in the areas of Reading/
English Language Arts, Math, Science, or Writing, the campuses must have 20% or
more of the students score above the TAKS Commended Performance level. The
Middle School and the Junior High attendance rate had to be 96% for Gold Performance
recognition. To achieve Gold recognition in Comparable Improvement, the
Middle School had to score in the top 25% of forty districts who are comparable to
Hallsville ISD. The district had to have 20% or more of students taking the TAKS
test score at or above the TAKS Commended Performance level.
