Hallsville High School held a Veterans Day Assembly on November 10th to honor area veterans and allow students to remember the importance of celebrating this special day in the history of our country. Hallsville High School Student Council presented the “Wall of Honor,” which was a display of Veterans’ names, as guests entered the building. The HHS Band opened the program with a patriotic medley. The posting of the Nation’s colors was led by the Student Council, followed by the National Anthem and “God Bless America” by the Hallsville High School Choir, under the direction of Dawn Dillard. Dr. Brian Morris recognized area veterans in attendance at the program. The President’s Veterans Day Proclamation was read by Scott Bailey. A salute to former students presently serving our nation was presented in a media presentation. Guest Speaker was Robert Earl (Bob) McCarty, U.S. Army Veteran.
Steve Moreland conducted the Jazz Band and the culinary arts class served refreshments to the veterans, their families, and guests following the program.
Dave Simmons, program director; Dr. Brian Morris, HHS Principal; and Greg Wright, Superintendent of Schools and the Hallsville Independent School District would like to thank the veterans for attending our Veterans Day Program and for serving our country.
