HISD Adds New Visitor Check-In System |
|
|
All HISD campus visitors will have to comply with new entrance procedures as the
district implements the Raptor check-in system. VSoft (Raptor Technologies) has developed a
web based software application for visitor, student or faculty tracking.
The system allows an individual’s state issued ID to be scanned when they enter the
building. The software checks the national sex offender database for a positive
identification.
This system is being put in place to ensure the safety of our students. The check-in
procedure will be simple, and not be a major inconvenience. All visitors will be asked for
their Texas Driver’s license or state issued ID. After the visitor has been checked in,
a name badge will be printed for the visitor to wear while in the building. The district will
have security procedures in place if there is a positive identification of a known sex
offender.
More than 120 Texas school districts already use the Raptor program that allows school
officials to do an instantaneous background check on all visitors.
At Hallsville ISD student safety is our #1 priority. The new visitor check-in system is
one additional measure that can be taken to protect our most precious resource —
our children.
