December 9, 2009 - The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) requires that all core academic subject area teachers, grades PK-12, meet the highly qualified (HQ) requirements. Each district is required to publicly report the percentage of teachers meeting this status.
Hallsville ISD is pleased to report that for the 2009-2010 school year, 100% of the PK-12 core academic teachers in the district meet this federal requirement. This is the fourth year that this report has been required by NCLB, with Hallsville ISD meeting the 100% status each year.
The district and campus report cards related to Highly Qualified Teachers and instructions on how to access reports are now available online at
http://www.tea.state.tx.us/nclb/hqreport.html

2010-2011 Registration Process
Starting the 2010-2011 school year, All families will be required to show a proof of residency at registration every year, even if you have already done so in the past. From each campus your child attended in the 2009-2010 school year, you received a "Proof of Residence" form -- one form per child in your family. If you did not receive this form, it may be downloaded here. You must have a proof of residence in order to register. On registration day, bring these completed forms with you along with ONE of the following: 2009 Harrison County Tax Statement Current Lease Current Purchase Agreement or Contract At the first campus you go to register, the first station will be the proof of residency station. You will give the Proof of Residence form for the child at that campus, along with one of the proof of residency documents listed above, to the campus staff member at the station. The staff person will check your proof of residence document. When your residency is verified, the staff person will make a copy of the proof of residency document and stamp all of your children’s Proof of Residence forms. You will proceed to complete the rest of registration on that campus. When you go to the next campuses to register your other children, the other campuses will accept the verified (stamped) Proof of Residence form. We appreciate your cooperation as we transition to this new process.
