Hallsville ISD Mission Statement

As a community of learners, the mission of the Hallsville Independent School District is to prepare students to be responsible and productive citizens by providing properly trained employees, quality education programs and facilities, while meeting community expectations and being financially responsible.

District Objectives, Strategies, and Belief Statements

Objectives

  1. To have all students reading on or above grade level by the end of each grade and remaining at grade level or better for the remainder of their public school career.
  2. To have all students by the end of the 8th grade demonstrate proficiency in math.
  3. To have all students graduate from Hallsville ISD with the ability to communicate at grade level in oral and written forms.
  4. To have each student achieve positive and continuous academic success.

Strategies

  1. We will design and implement a Board approved curriculum that meets educational requirements.
  2. We will demonstrate quality control of resources, program, and personnel.
  3. We will provide appropriate facilities to implement and support our instructional program.
  4. We will ensure participation and support from parents, businesses, and community members to accomplish agreed-upon goals.
  5. We will use appropriate technology to assist staff in the delivery of the best possible educational service to our clients and community.
  6. We will prepare students to be responsible and productive citizens.
  7. We will provide properly trained employees.

Belief Statements

  1. We believe that all people have the right to be treated with respect and dignity.
  2. We believe that children are our most important asset and come first.
  3. We believe all children can learn when individual differences are recognized.
  4. We believe open and positive communication between the home and school is essential for developing trust and mutual understanding.
  5. We believe all people have the right to a safe and caring environment where individual worth is valued, unique differences and talents are appreciated, and fairness is practiced.
  6. We believe the family is the single most powerful influence on the child.
  7. We believe that reading is the foundation for learning.
  8. We believe learning is continuous, individualized, relevant to life, and active.
  9. We believe all children have the right to appropriate services and opportunities to learn.
  10. We believe learning takes place best in an environment free from disruption.
  11. We believe respect for law and order, and personal property are basic to the preservation of our nation and the well-being of our families and communities.
  12. We believe that public education shares in the responsibility of preparing future citizens to live and function both ethically and morally in a democratic society.
  13. We believe that problem-solving and critical thinking are essential skills in preparing students for life-long learning and for effective participation in a global society.
