Math Intervention:  Debbie Staggs

I am Debbie Staggs and I graduated of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education with minors in math and special education and  Master of Science in Education.  The 2016-17school year is my 30th year of teaching and 26th year at Hallsville ISD. I have taught grades 2-6 and am currently a math interventionist at North Elementary.  My passion is teaching math.  I enjoy watching struggling math students become successful math students and possibly even learning to like math.  I am married to Larry who also teaches math at Hallsville High School.  We have 2 daughters, Stephanie and Danielle, which are Hallsville graduates and 5 grandchildren. Math Intervention:  Tiffany Minyard

Hi!  My name is Tiffany Minyard and I am a math interventionist here at North Elementary.  I taught 2nd grade here in Hallsville for 8 years before joining the intervention team.  I have also taught 3rd grade in both Longview and Magnolia ISDs.  I graduated from Sam Houston State University.

I have been married to my husband, Anthony, for 18 years.  We have two children, Matthew (6th grade) and Molly (4th grade).  Our family loves anything outdoors and anything having to do with animals!

Reading Intervention:  Jerilyn Zackary

Hello!  My name is Jerilyn Zackary.  I am a Master Reading Teacher and a Reading Specialist.  The 2016-2017 school year is my 13th year in Education.  This will be my second year as a Bobcat.  I graduated from UTTyler in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.  I also completed graduate school from UTTyler this summer with a Masters of Education in Reading. 

My husband, Johnny and I have been married for 27 years.  We have two daughters.  Our family grew this summer with the addition of a wonderful son-in-law. Our oldest daughter is now married and completing her degree in Education.  Our youngest daughter is pursuing a Nursing Degree in college. 

I am so excited to be part of the reading intervention team in Hallsville.  My desire is to help struggling readers reach their full potential.  I am thrilled to partner with parents as we help their children reach their literacy goals.  

Reading Intervention:  Jennifer Gillaspie

Hello! My name is Jennifer Gillaspie, and I am so excited to be a part of the team at Hallsville North Elementary! I graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, with a reading emphasis. In 2005, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, where I received my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree. I have also added on a Reading Specialist certificate and a Master Reading Teacher endorsement.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have two daughters that attend school here in Hallsville. Hallsville ISD was my home from K-12th grade, and we are excited that our own children get to be a part of a district that we love.
I am looking forward to an incredible year of working with our readers at North!

Speech Therapist:  Tara Rangel

My name is Tara Rangel and I am the speech language pathologist at North Elementary.  I work with children who may have a disorder in articulation, language, or fluency (stuttering) that is affecting them in their educational setting.  I am beginning my 10th year as a school speech language pathologist.  I have been at Hallsville for 8 years. 

I grew up in Hallsville and graduated from here.  I received my Bachelor and Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Stephen F. Austin State University.  I am married to my husband David and we have two boys, Christian and Aiden.  In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends.  I also love the beach! It is one of my favorite places to visit.  I look forward to working with your child this year in speech therapy!

ESL Intervention:  Brandie Linville

Hi!  My name is Brandie Linville and I am the North Elementary ESL (English as a Second Language) Support Teacher.  I graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, then began my teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher at David Crockett Elementary in Marshall.   After teaching there for 7 years, I transferred to Hallsville where I enjoyed 2 years of teaching 3rd graders at East Elementary.  I am currently at North Elementary following my passion; teaching English skills to our students who have the gift of speaking English as well as another language!
I am married to Chris Linville and we have two boys, Drew and Conner, and our one and only princess, Brooklyn.  We enjoy making family memories, camping at the lake and deer lease, playing sports, and going on any other outdoor adventure we can find.  Our favorite place to vacation is at the beach!  I look forward to empowering the learning of all of our English Language Learners by helping them meet their language goals!
