The Hallsville FFA chapter at Hallsville High School was chartered in 1938. Our Agriculture Science department is a solid, well-rounded program that is educational, competitive, and fun to be apart of. We have a four teacher department where knowledge and competencies learned in the classroom are put to use with hands-on laboratory experiences in our welding shop, greenhouse, Ag farm, Agriscience lab, and Ag power lab.
Hallsville FFA has been recognized by the National FFA as a 3-star chapter (highest ranking) five of the last six years. We have also been ranked in the top ten chapters in the state three times recently for the National FFA Chapter Award, last year being ranked number one!
All Ag Science students are encouraged to become FFA members where they can compete in extracurricular activities such as livestock shows, ag mechanics contests, leadership activities, judging contests, workshops and camps. While projects are not required they are encouraged; students with projects learn responsibility, discipline, patience and, in a small way, an insight into the real world of agriculture.
