    Accounting II is a 2-semester course. Successful completion will earn the student one credit and is part of the Business and Industry Endorsement.

    Course Description: 

    Students continue the investigation of the field of accounting, including how it is impacted by industry standards as well as economic, financial, technological, international, social, legal, and ethical factors. Students reflect on this knowledge as they engage in various managerial and cost accounting activities. Students formulate and interpret financial information for use in management decision making.

    Course Objectives: 

    • Use equations, graphical representations, accounting tools, strategies, and systems in real-world situations to maintain, monitor, control, and plan the use of financial resources
    • Communicate how accounting procedures affect financial statements
    • Perform accounting functions specific to a corporation
    • Apply related accounting procedures to the purchase and sale of bonds
    • Discuss and perform accounting functions in a financial statement analysis
    • Describe and employ fundamental managerial accounting concepts
    • Prepare budget reports to make business decisions
    • Describe and abide by laws and regulations in order to manage business operations and transactions in accounting
    • Access, process, maintain, evaluate, and disseminates financial information to assist business decision making
    • Obtain a QuickBooks Certified User certification

    Assessment Plan:

    MAJOR GRADES: Comprehensive Accounting Problems, Practice Sets, Chapter Tests, and Competitive Tests

    • Weighted 60%
    • 3 per 9 weeks

    MINOR GRADES: Daily Grades, Chapter Problems, and Worksheets

    • Weighted 40%
    • 1 each week

    Grading Scale:      

     A         90-100            

     B         80-89              

     C         70-79              

     F         Below 70
