Ben Pannell

H Association History

Coach Ben Pannell organized the "H" Association in 1933. He was Hallsville's first actual coach and served from 1927 until 1938. He had been a great athlete at Pineland high School and Stephen F Austin University.  It was said he turned down a professional career in baseball to coach at Hallsville. Membership to the "H" associattion includes lettering in a sport as a Hallsville high School Bobcat. The Hall of Fame was established by Ben Pannell in 1963.
