Mari and Paige

Hi!  Welcome to Mari and Paige’s ‘About Us’ page.  Mari Haislip and Paige Mayes have been working side by side for three years in the structured learning classroom.   Mari instructs students in English language arts, writing, and social students while Paige teaches math and science.

Both Mari and Paige work with behavior modifications while using a structured teaching approach in the classroom.  They use a combination of Applied Behavior Analysis and TEACCH (structured teaching) with the goal of helping each student feel lovable and capable and to love learning.

Mari graduated from University of Texas, Tyler with an education degree.  After her children were school age, she began her teaching career in Hallsville ISD and has been the structured learning classroom for 10 years.  Mari is married to Daniel.  She has four children.  Mari’s oldest daughter Audrie is a sophomore at Mississippi State University.  Allie is sixteen and a junior at Hallsville High School.  Her twin boys, Max and Bryson are in 8th grade.  When not spending time with Daniel and her kids, Mari enjoys working-out, reading, and traveling.

Paige graduated from Texas A&M University and taught in Dallas for a number of years until coming to the east Texas area.  After working in Longview ISD, she moved to HISD three years ago.  Paige and Todd have two children.  Cooper is a freshman at Longview High School and Maggie is in 6th grade at Hallsville Junior High.  When not chauffeuring her kids around town, Paige likes to work-out (not really), read and DIY decorating.

Mari and Paige also have valuable teaching assitants that make the classroom run smoothly.

Ms. Taylor is native to Hallsville and has worked in the district for many years.  She is a certified teacher and is such a blessing to the classroom.  Mari and Paige aren't sure what they would do without her!

Mr. Daniel is new to Hallsville and to education in general.  He has quickly adapted to the classroom family and is invaluable.  Daniel and his wife Kayla have a young son, John Michael.  He is also an ordained minister and has served the church in many capacities.

Mr. Chris is also new to the district and education.  He works as a behavioral assistant and has become an important part of the classroom.  Chris is a senior paster at a church.  He and his wife have two children and foster many children in their times of need.
