English I & III
After finishing up at Texas A&M in 2007 with a degree in Communication, my husband and I ventured out to East Texas. We never intended to stay long and were certain the stint would be temporary. But, fast-forward ten plus years, with a couple moves in and out, and we proudly call East Texas home (again). When the kids acquired the iconic East Texas accent... there was no denying it anymore! I've spent my days teaching 7th grade writing for the past 10 years, and most recently moved to the high school were I teach English I and III. Every other waking moment I attempt to control the organized chaos called life. With two wonderful kids, we stay busy as a family between all the various activities!
Although my degree was not originally in teaching, it did not take me long to figure out it was my calling. I obtained an alternative certification in 2010, and have gained so much experience along the way. From cheer sponsor, UIL coach and coordinator, GT coordinator, team lead, and Z-Club sponsor, I've worn many hats in my time as an educator!
