Mrs. Sarah-Graham Carlile
Welcome to 7th Grade English/Language Arts!
My name is Sarah-Graham Carlile, and I joined the Hallsville ISD faculty in 2020 as a seventh-grade Pre-AP English/Language Arts teacher. With the exception of my four years in Williamsburg, Virginia at the College of William and Mary, I have lived in Dallas, TX for my entire life. However, I moved to Marshall, TX in November 2019 when I married my husband Lance and also gained two wonderful children, Sloane and Dean. I have thoroughly enjoyed life in East Texas, especially spending time with my new family.
Professionally, I worked in an independent Christian school in the Dallas area for eight years, where I primarily taught eighth-grade History/English, a humanities program combining the disciplines, and served as Department Head. During that time, I also completed my dual Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction. Since childhood, I dreamed of becoming a teacher, and I approach my work in the classroom each day with enthusiasm and commitment, believing that I have the best job in the world! I am confident that your child has been providentially placed in my classroom, and I look forward to the opportunity to teach him or her this year. It is my expectation that he or she will grow as a reader and writer, learning to love both along the way.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading (of course!), traveling domestically and internationally, organizing, cooking and baking, walking outside, volunteering, and most importantly, spending time with my family and friends.
