Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Terri Holstead
I have been married to Bruce Holstead since 1988. Bruce works for Eastman Chemical Company. We raised two sons (Dylan and Brady) who both attended Hallsville schools from Kindergarten through high school graduation. Dylan is employed as a mechanical engineer for Kimberly-Clark. His wife Julie is performing her residency in pediatrics at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Brady is currently attending Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine to become a doctor. His wife Morgan teaches first grade at Upland Heights Elementary School in Lubbock, Texas. I also have two sweet dogs! Annie is a huge white labradaor and Lola is a tiny toy poodle. Both are quite spoiled and don't realize that they are not humans!
I began my teaching career at Pine Tree ISD where I taught second grade for three years. I then took 7 years off to have my children and enjoy just being a mom! I began teaching second grade in Hallsville ISD in 1998. I taught second grade here for 14 years before leaving the classroom in 2012 to begin working as an interventionist. I enjoy being an interventionist because I truly love working with struggling students and finding ways to help them be successful in the classroom. When I see their faces light up because they finally grasp a difficult math skill, it's the greatest feeling! I also enjoy getting to know my students in a more personal small group setting.
I enjoy reading, travelling, and camping. I also love to cook, and I collect cookbooks. My favorite place to be is a beach soaking up the sun. A perfect day for me would be to hang out on a beach all day with my family, and then enjoy my favorite foods....shrimp and lobster.
I love teaching at East Elementary where I feel like we have the best administrators and staff! We truly are a family of friends and coworkers who are dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for students to learn and grow.
