Welcome to 3rd grade and all the adventures it holds! I am so excited about this coming school year and look forward to getting to know your child and watching him or her grow during their 3rd grade year. I have been teaching in Hallsville ISD since 2014 and look forward to another wonderful and fantastic year.
About Me: Our family is from Texas, but we lived in Evansville, Indiana for a short time before moving here to Hallsville and we ABSOLUTELY love it! I graduated from Texas A&M with a business degree, then decided I was born to teach so I returned to Lamar University and received a Master’s in Education. I have taught grades Pre-K through 6th grade, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE 3rd grade! Aside from being a teacher, I am also a wife and mother! My husband, Jimmie and I were blessed with two WONDERFUL daughters! Makenzie attends Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) in College Station and is majoring in Chemical Engineering. Maggie, our youngest, is active in the amazing UIL program at Hallsville High School and competes in Ready Writing and Journalism and earned a spot on the district team her freshman year! Maggie also plays on the Varsity Tennis Team for Hallsville. I enjoy spending time with my family, attending all my daughters' activities and reading great books! I love reading so very much, that I want to inspire a love of reading. This summer to do just that, I became an ambassador of reading and our family established a Little Free Library in front of our house. Our Little Free Library is now on the Little Free Library World Map. I encourage each and every one to check out the Little Free Libraries in our area (littlefreelibrary.org) and visit them to take a book and leave a book. Happy reading and may the school year bring many great adventures, hopefully through some wonderful books!
Favorite Things: The color yellow, because it's HAPPY, Texas A&M, unsweet tea (I love sweet tea like most southerners but am trying to be healthy),popcorn, Paper Mate Ink Joy gel pens, and great books.
Ways to Support Our Classroom: help with classroom parties, send extra snacks, order scholastic books for your student(we get points that I redeem for books for our classroom), magazines to read in class, and read each and every day with your child!
