TAEA District of Distinction

Hallsville ISD has been awarded the 2024 Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction Award, placing it among the top 5.5 percent of school districts in the state.

The TAEA announced that 94 districts earned the prestigious award this year, including Hallsville ISD. The recognition highlights districts that provide a well-rounded education by advocating for and integrating visual arts curriculum, which fosters creativity, social-emotional learning, and community connections.

For the 2024 award, over 1,200 districts were eligible to apply. Each district submitted documentation showing they met a 14-point rubric for the 2023-2024 school year. Only 94 districts met the high standards required to receive the honor. Hallsville ISD was recognized at the TAEA Fall Conference on Nov. 15, 2024, during the Administration and Supervision Division meeting and General Session.

Hallsville ISD continues to set a high standard for visual arts advocacy, creativity, community engagement, and student development.
