Choir
The Hallsville High School choir program made an impressive showing at the pre-area choir auditions held on Nov. 19 in Jacksonville, with 33 students competing and 11 advancing to the next round. Hallsville boasted the highest number of students advancing from any school in the region.
The following students will represent Hallsville at the area auditions in Waco this January, where they will vie for a coveted spot in the prestigious Texas All-State Choir:
Soprano 1: Violet Dolive (5th chair); Katelyn Boughton (6th chair, 1st alternate)
Soprano 2: Sariyah Greenwood (1st chair); Abby Weaver (3rd chair); Savanah Sutton (4th chair); Phoebe Buchanan (7th chair, 2nd alternate)
Alto 1: Haley Pereira (1st chair)
Alto 2: Joy Maertins (6th chair, 1st alternate); Marley Cottrell (7th chair, 2nd alternate)
Tenor 1: Austin Teer (1st chair); Brennan Bresch (3rd chair)
Tenor 2: Jose Juarez (2nd chair); Austin Womack (5th chair), Joseph Maertins (6th chair)
Bass 2: Ethan Alcantera (1st chair); Christian Wineinger (5th chair)
