Hallsville FFA
This past July, four Hallsville FFA students received their Lone Star Degrees and were recognized at the State Convention. These students were: Piper Endsley, Cori Hendrix, Ryan Shelton and Whitney Sullivan.
While attending the State Convention, the Hallsville Chapter was also recognized for several awards. Individual students as well as the entire Hallsville Chapter of FFA were honored at the November HISD School Board meeting.
The National Chapter Award Program is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization. These chapters improve chapter operations using the National Quality Chapter Standards (NQCS) and a Program of Activities (POA) that emphasize growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.
Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership. In order to qualify for a state or national award, a chapter must complete at least 15 activities: one for each of the five quality standards in each of the three divisions.
Additionally, the chapter must meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the National Quality Chapter Standards.
We are proud to announce that our Hallsville FFA was recognized as a Gold Rank Chapter with their National Chapter Application. We were one of only 35 chapters in the state to receive this honor! Congratulations to Amber Killeen, Sadie Myers, Thomas Beranek, and Taylor Smith, who serve as HISD Agricultural Science teachers.
