Rob Best Named CTAT Teacher Of The Year
Hallsville High School’s Robert Best has been named the CTAT Teacher of the Year by the Career and Technical Education Association of Texas, earning statewide recognition for his work in Law and Public Service education.
The honor was announced at the CTAT Summer Conference in Dallas, where educators from across Texas gathered to celebrate outstanding contributions in career and technical education. Each year, CTAT selects one teacher who demonstrates exceptional leadership, innovation, and a commitment to preparing students for success in their chosen careers.
“Mr. Best exemplifies everything that makes a great CTE educator,” said Kathy Gaw, Hallsville ISD CTE Director. “His passion, creativity, and ability to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences make a lasting difference in the lives of his students.”
Best’s approach to teaching emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and career readiness. Under his guidance, students in the Law and Public Service program gain practical knowledge and develop skills that position them for future success in fields such as law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety.
“Robert’s recognition as CTAT Teacher of the Year is a reflection of his deep commitment to his students and his profession,” Gaw said. “We are proud to have him representing Hallsville ISD and the impact CTE can have on a student’s future.”
Hallsville ISD celebrated the announcement, calling it a proud moment for the district and community. Best’s influence extends beyond the classroom, inspiring both students and fellow educators throughout the region.
“His students leave his program not only with knowledge, but with confidence and purpose,” Gaw added. “That’s the true mark of an exceptional teacher.”
