UIL Excels At State Meet

AUSTIN, Texas — The Hallsville High School UIL Academic Team delivered an impressive showing at the State Academic Meet held May 19-20, bringing home multiple top finishes and state titles.

Senior Brennen Ashley was the Number Sense 5A State Champion, posting the highest score of all classifications statewide—and the only individual to surpass 300 points in the event.

Ashley also earned a silver medal in Mathematics and helped lead the Hallsville Calculator Team to a State Championship alongside teammates Evan Dunin (6th place), Garrett Simmons, and Morgan Roberts.

In other events, Zoey Davis captured a silver medal in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and Isaiah Browning placed 5th in Ready Writing. The Number Sense Team, composed of Ashley, Chandler Emerine, Hunter Hines, and Emma Davis, finished 4th overall in the team standings.

Hallsville ISD celebrates these students and their coaches for their outstanding achievements and for proudly representing their school at the state level.
