Art Students Recognized At VASE State

HALLSVILLE, Texas — Eight Hallsville ISD visual arts students advanced to the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) 2025 State Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE), held Saturday, April 26.

Six of the submitted artworks earned a prestigious Rating 4, the highest distinction awarded at the state level short of the elite Gold Seal recognition.

Receiving Rating 4 honors were sophomores Lennea Anderson for "Can't Erase Him" and Madison Weaver for "The Lady or The Tigers", juniors Abigail Mulcahy for "Celebration of Death" and Maycie Dennis for "Sweater Weather", and seniors Uswa Mughal for "Ethereal Bloom" and Sunny Willoughby for "It Gets to a Point."

Also advancing to the state contest were freshman Elizabeth Chabarria and junior Isabelle Brown, whose work was among those selected for adjudication.
