Copyright Statement
The Hallsville Independent School District abides by copyright and extends the same expectation to students, teachers, and all content authors; however, if you are the owner of copyrighted material that you believe has been used without permission, follow the instructions below to contact the HISD Copyright Agent (Service Provider: Hallsville Independent School District) and file a complaint.
Pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, Title 17, United States Code, Section 512(c), to be effective, written notification ("Notification") of claimed copyright infringement must be submitted to the following Agent Designated to Receive Notification of Claimed Infringement (Service Provider: Hallsville Independent School District).
To be effective, the Notification must include the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site;
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material;
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and if available, an electronic mail address at which the complaining party may be contacted;
- A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Note: the above information is provided exclusively for notifying the service providers referenced that your copyrighted material might have been infringed. All other inquiries, such as requests for technical assistance, will not receive a response through this process.
Refusal of Entry/Ejection of Individual from HISD Property
Notice Regarding the Refusal of Entry to or Ejection of an Individual from District Property
Any administrator, SRO, or school peace officer can refuse to allow, or may reject any person from property under the district’s control.
If the person refuses to leave peacefully and either:
- Poses a substantial risk of harm to any person; or
- Behaves in a manner that is inappropriate for a school setting.
Process:
- A verbal warning is issued that the behavior is inappropriate and may result in refusal of entry, or ejection.
- If the person persists after the warning, the person may be refused entry or ejected.
District/Campus Responsibilities:
- Keep a record of each verbal warning that includes the person’s name and date
- At the time of refusal or ejection, the district will provide written information explaining the appeal process
- The term of the refusal cannot exceed two years
- If this happens to the parent of a student, the school must accommodate the parent so that they can participate in ARD or 504 meetings.
- There must be a notice about this, including the appeal process, posted on the district’s website and the website of each campus.

TEC §29.0112(e) A school district shall:
- Post the transition and employment guide on the district's website if the district maintains a website;
- Provide written information and, if necessary, assistance to a student or parent regarding how to access the electronic version of the guide at:
- the first meeting of the student's admission, review, and dismissal committee at which transition is discussed; and
- the first committee meeting at which transition is discussed that occurs after the date on which the guide is updated; and
- on request, provide a printed copy of the guide to a student or parent.

Nondiscrimination Statement

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs (Secondary Grade Levels Only): Hallsville ISD offers Career and Technical Education programs in Animal Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Technology, Digital Communications, Graphic Design, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Culinary Arts, Refining and Chemical Processes, Automotive Repair, Diagnostic and Therapeutics, Exercise Science and Wellness, Teaching and Training, Law Enforcement, Fire Science, Programming and Software Development, Engineering Foundations, Heating and Ventilation, and Cosmetology. Admission to these programs is based on interest, aptitude, age appropriateness, completion of any course prerequisites, and class size and availability.
It is the policy of Hallsville ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap in its vocational programs, services, or activities. The district also provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups, as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
