HPSS Students Earn State Recognition

Congratulations to Hallsville Public Safety Society (HPSS) members who competed at the 2026 Texas Public Safety Association (TPSA) State Conference in Galveston, Texas. This conference, showcasing realistic competitions in the Law Enforcement, Corrections, Forensic, Emergency Services and Law areas, was the largest it has ever been with almost 1500 registered participants comprised of competitors, Advisors, Volunteers and Bus Drivers. Of these, there were over 1200 competitors who placed 1st through 3rd at Regional Competitions.
Hallsville took 14 students who advanced in 7 competitions to State this year.
HPSS earned State Accolades in the following:
1. TPSA Scholarship: Madelynn Caldwell
2. 2nd Place in Cell Extraction (Corrections division): Mia Hatfield (Team Leader), Paxton Suggs, Kent Phillips, Dax Sullivan, Cameron Sisk, and Jacob Smith.
3. 3rd Place in Opening Statements (Law Division): Beatriz Omura

2. Public Service Announcement (Emergency Services Division): Madelynn Caldwell & Oliver Alcantara
3. Closing Statements (Law Division): Jacelyn Reitz
4. Report Writing (Law Enforcement Division): Ernie Cashion & Haley Fincher
5. Facility Design (Corrections Division): J’ahna Felder & Fatima Guevara
Special appreciation goes to the volunteers who selflessly sacrificed very long hours to help the Conference be a success.
