Hallsville ISD is celebrating an outstanding achievement by Hallsville High School senior Maya Onofre, who has been selected to receive the Art and Design Award from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in recognition of her exceptional talent and accomplishments in photography.
The award was announced by Allan C. Mathew, Ph.D., Assistant Vice President and Dean of Admissions at Rochester Institute of Technology, recognizing Maya's outstanding artistic achievement and potential.
Along with this prestigious recognition, Maya has been awarded a renewable scholarship valued at $29,000 per year, contingent upon her acceptance and enrollment in RIT's BS/BFA program for the Fall 2027 semester following her high school graduation.
The scholarship represents a potential $116,000 in undergraduate financial support over four years at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Maya was formally recognized for her accomplishments during the October Hallsville ISD Board of Trustees meeting, where district leaders celebrated her artistic talent, dedication, and academic opportunities.
This recognition is a tremendous accomplishment and reflects Maya's creativity, hard work, and commitment to developing her skills as a photographer.
Hallsville ISD congratulates Maya on this prestigious honor and looks forward to seeing where her talent and passion for photography take her in the future.
Congratulations, Maya! You make us BOBCAT PROUD!
