Hallsville Independent School District is located in the heart of East Texas, primarily serving the city of Hallsville and portions of Harrison County. The district covers approximately 188 square miles in the western part of Harrison County. Hallsville ISD and every campus in Hallsville ISD continues the academic excellence that has been a hallmark of our school district for decades. HISD consists of seven (7) campuses that serve students through 12:
- Hallsville East Elementary - Grades K-4
- Hallsville North Elementary - Grades K-4
- Hallsville West Elementary - Grades K-4
- Hallsville Intermediate - Grades 5-6
- Hallsville Junior High - Grades 7-8
- Hallsville High School - Grades 9-12
- Texas Virtual Academy Hallsville
Academic Performance
Hallsville ISD is known for our strong academic programs, regularly earning high ratings from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The district emphasizes a well-rounded curriculum that includes advanced placement (AP) and dual-credit courses, helping prepare students for college and career success.
Extracurricular Achievement
Hallsville ISD has an award-winning fine arts program, including band, choir, theater, and visual arts. The Hallsville Bobcat Band has won numerous regional and state awards, and the choir consistently excels in competitions. The district’s athletic teams, including football, basketball, baseball, and softball, have made several deep playoff appearances, and the Hallsville tennis and cross-country teams have also been highly successful.
Career & Technical Education
Hallsville High School offers a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, providing students with real-world skills in areas such as agriculture, health sciences, business, and technology. Students can earn industry certifications and gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields.
Community Involvement
Hallsville ISD enjoys strong community support, with local businesses and organizations actively participating in school events and initiatives. The Hallsville Education Foundation provides scholarships and funding to enhance the district’s educational opportunities.
Awards & Recognitions
Hallsville ISD was recently honored with the 2024 Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction Award, placing it in the top 5.5 percent of school districts in Texas for excellence in visual arts education. The district’s FFA (Future Farmers of America) and UIL (University Interscholastic League) programs have received regional and state-level recognition for leadership and competition excellence.
