CI&A: Roadmap To Potential
-
Welcome to Hallsville ISD Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment! Our goal is to ensure that we provide vision, leadership and expertise in the development of curricular and instructional systems and programs that are research-based, student-centered and address the standards outlined in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) and English Language Proficiency standards (ELPS).
The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department at Hallsville ISD plays a vital role in shaping the educational experience for all students. By designing and implementing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum, the department ensures that students are challenged, engaged, and supported throughout their academic journey. From early childhood through high school, the department works to align instruction with state standards and best practices to prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong success.
Collaboration is at the heart of the department’s mission. Teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators work closely to deliver high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of every learner. Through data-driven decision-making, ongoing professional development, and targeted academic interventions, the Curriculum and Instruction team supports a learning environment where students can grow intellectually and personally.
At Hallsville ISD, a strong curriculum is more than academic content—it is a roadmap that guides students toward their full potential. The department remains committed to equipping students with critical thinking skills, creativity, and a passion for learning, ensuring that each graduate is well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future. HISD Credit by Exam & Acceleration Information
-
The purpose of examination for acceleration is to allow a student to accelerate and earn credit for a particular course or grade level without formal instruction in that course or grade level. The student must score a minimum of 80% on the required tests taken for the appropriate course/grade level. Thank you for your interest in the Examination for Acceleration testing program. Secondary students may earn credit in academic subjects, and elementary students may accelerate a grade level, by passing the appropriate examinations for acceleration. Exams will be offered for all elementary grades and most TEKS-based courses in grades 6-12. See more information below on Hallsville ISD's Examination for Acceleration testing program.
