Tutorial: Google Calendar Embedding
Posted by Mark Page on 11/3/2017I've created a reasonably thorough tutorial for embedding Google Calendars into your HISD web page(s). It's quite a few steps so put on some decent music, grab a cup of coffee and dive in.
You can access the tutorial by clicking the "Embedding Google Calendars" link to the left of by just clicking here. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the difficulty on this one at about a 2.
Enjoy ;-)

jQuery Accordion Control
Posted by Mark Page on 7/4/2017I've added a down-and-dirty tutorial for adding a jQuery accordion control to your HISD web page -- if you so desire. And since you asked, an accordion is a graphical control element comprising a vertically stacked list of items, such as labels or thumbnails. Each item can be "expanded" or "stretched" to reveal the content associated with that item. I've created the CSS entries to make the control blend in with our existing theme.
You can get there by clicking the "jQuery Accordion Control" link to your left or by simply clicking here. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the difficulty on this one at about a 7.
Enjoy ;-)

Tutorial: How to setup a Google Drive folder share
Posted by Mark Page on 6/13/2017Using a shared Google Drive folder with the HISD Web site is a simple and easily maintainable way to share content with staff, parents, and the community. Additionally, our Google Apps instance automatically handles and displays compatible files types (images, video, spreadsheets, etc.) directly in the user's browser -- no download needed.
You can access the tutorial by clicking the "Google Folders Example" link to the left of by just clicking here. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the difficulty on this one at about a 2.
Enjoy ;-)
