Meet The Board

  • Jay NelsonMr. Jay Nelson

    Mr. Jay Nelson is a Hallsville High School graduate who received a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University. Mr. Nelson is the Vice President of Finance and Administration for STS Consulting Services, LLC. Jay and his wife, Jennifer – also a HHS graduate – have four children who are also Hallsville Bobcat alumni: Jayla (HHS Class of 2016), James (HHS Class of 2017), Justice (HHS Class of 2020), and Jaryn (HHS Class of 2022).

  • Dale HaneyMr. Dale Haney

    Mr. Dale Haney is a 1993 graduate of Hallsville High School who served in the United States Marine Corps for six years after graduation. Mr. Haney was honorably discharged from the Marines after achieving the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Haney earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from Kilgore College. He is currently a Welder/Machinist at Pirkey Power Plant and also co-owner of Extended Family Preschool in Hallsville with his wife, Jessica. Jessica is also a Hallsville graduate, having graduated Salutatorian of the HSS Class of 1999. Dale and Jessica have two children attending HISD: son Case and daughter Tessa. The Haneys are members of Hallsville United Methodist Church and is also a member of Hallsville’s Masonic Lodge.

  • Troy CraftonMr. Troy Crafton

    A 1997 Hallsville High School graduate, Mr. Troy Crafton earned a BBA in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management from the University of North Texas. He and his wife, Tiffany, a 1994 graduate of Hallsville, have three children: Kylie (HHS Class of 2015), Trey, and Ty. Mr. Crafton enjoys coaching, playing golf, vacations with family, and Texas A&M football.

  • Doug McGarveyMr. Doug McGarvey

    Mr. Doug McGarvey is a Hallsville graduate who earned a BBA from the University of North Texas. He serves as a Biopharmaceutical Representative for Amgen Biotech. He and his wife, Kimberly, have four children: Payton, Graceyn, Paxton, and Corbin. All four McGarvey children also attended Hallsville ISD since kindergarten. The McGarvey family is active in their church and enjoys traveling and spending with family when not supporting their favorite Bobcats in their numerous activities.

  • Jason AinsworthMr. Jason Ainsworth

    Mr. Jason Ainsworth has lived in Hallsville ISD for most of his life. He has served on the HISD Board of Trustees since May of 2010. He and his wife, Paula, have two children: Jarrett and Jaydin. Mr. Ainsworth is a 1998 HHS graduate and has worked for the family business for 22 years, having begun his career while in the work program at Hallsville High School.

  • Matt FolmarMr. Matt Folmar

    Matt Folmar is a graduate of James Bowie High School in Austin. He has a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master's in Education Administration. Matt is a local small business owner of Rollo Insurance Agency in Hallsville. He and his wife, Jessica, have three children, two of which attend school in Hallsville now, Shelby in 8th grade and Brooklyn in 5th grade, and the last one, Beau, who will enter Kindergarten next year. The Folmars are involved in their local church, Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

  • Shane GoswickMr. Shane Goswick

    Mr. Shane Goswick is a graduate of Elysian Fields High School and East Texas Baptist University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Mr. Goswick is a local small business owner of Precision Turf Lawn and Landscape and a partner in Longview Lights. He and his wife, Courtney, have three children: Miller, Memphis, and McKoy, who are all Hallsville ISD Bobcats. The Goswicks are involved in their local church, Mobberly Baptist Church. Shane enjoys playing Baseball, coaching his kids in their extracurricular activities, hunting, and water sports.
