Mrs. Nicole Winters

Hi! I'm Nicole Winters and I've been the librarian at Hallsville JH since 2017.

I graduated high school in Broken Bow, OK and attended the University of Oklahoma for a degree in Elementary Eduction. After spending a few years working in elementary schools, I ended up teaching junior high when my husband and I moved to Texas. I quickly realized that junior high was where I was always meant to be. This is now my 13th year working in libraries, including both school and public libraries.

I've been married for 20 years to my wonderful husband, PJ, an education professor at East Texas Baptist University. Education definitely runs through our blood! We have 3 children, all in Hallsville schools. Katie and Caroline are at the High School, and JC attends Hallsville Intermediate. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing board games, and traveling. I almost always have a new trip being planned.

I am excited about sharing the love of books with every student this year! In addition to regular class times, the library is open at lunch and in the mornings before school -- 6th graders on Tuesday, 7th graders on Wednesday, and 8th graders on Thursday.  Students are welcome to check in with their first period teacher to obtain a pass, then come in to check out a new book, read, study, or complete homework.

I look forward to a great year!
