Ms. Melissa Mayes

Hi! My name is Melissa Mayes, and I currently teach 7th and 8th grade Spanish A and 8th Grade Pre-AP Spanish I at Hallsville Jr. High.  Although originally from California, I have lived in Texas most of my life.  I have a B.A. in Spanish and History from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.  I have also attended the Universidad de Guanajuato in Guanajuato, México.  I received my teaching certification in Secondary Spanish through University of Texas at Tyler. I am also certified to teach ESL. I have now been teaching Spanish here at the Junior High since 2000. I am excited to be teaching this year, and I hope your child enjoys my class!
