• Spanish A is a one semester course available to 7th graders and 8th graders. It is a basic introduction to Spanish and is not for any high school credit.

Students will be given a folder with pockets and brads. The folder will stay in their backpacks, but students need to be sure to bring it to class every day. Students should also bring paper and a pen or pencil each day.

We  will cover the Spanish alphabet, greetings, numbers, months, days, seasons, weather, describing people and classes, family, and telling time. We also learn about Spanish speaking countries, some holidays, and Don Quijote de la Mancha. Students are encouraged to study at home, but they should not have other homework. Each chapter, all of the vocabulary will also be found on quizlet.com by searching for MAYES SPANISH A. There will be one project, over Don Quijote de la Mancha, that they will complete at home.
