On November 12th. 2022 the HJH One Act Play team competed in the UIL One Act Play competition with our show "Leading Ladies."

The One Act Play Contest is where eight schools from around East Texas each bring a play they have rehearsed that is over 18 minutes and under 40 minutes. They are judged by three judges who are versed in theatre and the UIL rules.

Our show was very well received by the audience, gaining lots of laughter and reactions. After our performance we were given a standing ovation from the audience of Hallsville people and the other schools!

Out of those eight schools, we came home with first place making us the district champions! We swept the contest and all three judges gave us first place! We also received four other personal awards including BOTH best performer awards!
